Hugo Straver started Tennis the World in October 2017. Hugo used to do nothing more than play tennis as a little boy. When he saw the beautiful 2008 Wimbledon final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, he was sold. He often played matches in the area of Mijdrecht (a village close to Amsterdam) and visited the tournaments on the bike. After several tournament victories and three times club champion U17 in a row at the age of fifteen, Hugo thought: "I can hit a good ball, am I the new Roger Federer?". According to Hugo, it was time to show his talent on the track outside his permanent environment.
Hugo's parents brought him to a tournament in Hoofddorp where the level was much higher and he lost 6-1 6-1. No new Federer ... Six years later Hugo realized that his frame of reference on the tennis court was small, namely only the municipality where he lived in, until he went to participate in Hoofddorp. This realization and the inspiration he had then brought him to Tennis the World six years later. Tennis the World aims to give the youth maximum inspiration and to increase their frame of reference by taking them abroad. Our mission: Making Tennis Dreams Come True!

Tennis the World is about fun, growth and possibilities. Tennis the World believes that young tennis players, of every level, deserve opportunities to feel like a pro and to become an international. We believe that having fun, doing special things and challenging yourself will end with a lot of growth and happiness. As you have read above, there is only one Roger Federer and few players make it to the top. However, many players want to know what it is like to feel like a pro. This feeling is possible at Tennis the World!
